Malaria pills

Hey all,

Quick one - anyone know where to get malaria pills/medication in Geneva? I need a cycle of it for an upcoming trip and am wondering if pharmacies/hospitals will readily sell some.

Thanks!

Evan

There's a clinic at HUG university where I went to get yellow fever, hepatitis A and prescription for malaria pills. No appointment needed. You'll end up talking to a doctor (consultation) to get the pills and they'll advise you on the different types and prices.

Otherwise, just go to your GP. Either way, you need a perscription.

Hey Evan,

I also went to that HUG "travel clinic" mentioned above prior to my trip to Tanzania. They were really nice and got me all the shots I needed and a prescription for the malaria pills. I got the pills at my regular pharmacy (I think most have them, and if not they order them for you in a few hours/ overnight)

Have fun on your trip!

Hi Annie

I am going to Tanzania in a couple of weeks and need to sort things out quick!

Can you tell me which jabs they gave you and how much it all cost, inc malaria tabs.

I am in the UK for 1 day next week and could try to do it then if its a lot cheeper.

Thanks for your help!

Get Malarone, no side effects and no worries. It's expensive though, I think I paid around CHF2.5 each pill. You have to take one per day plus 1 week after you leave Tanzania.
