Man dies after a fight at Java Club - scary stuff
Just saw this article in the Tribune de Geneve.

A 25 year old Geneva man died after getting into a fight outside of Java Club in Geneva, getting pounched, and falling down the stairs.

I'm not posting this to 'bash' Java - I think that any situation that involves people and alcohol can get very dangerous very fast, and it seems to me that violence at clubs is on the rise everywhere.

I feel extremely sorry for the family of the man who died, and I also feel for the 18 year old who punched him.   He was probably drunk, and wanted to look brave in front of his friends, and now his life will never be the same again.

Its easier said than done, but sometimes (maybe most times?) its better to swallow your pride, and walk away from a potential fight before it happens.

Let's be careful out there...

well, the truth remains that they let under-aged guys inside, many young girls... sometimes even 14-15. very bad. young people cant assume dangers of alcohol they are just learning to intake/cope with as they grow with drinking experiences.

today's java just is no place for fun, but a feeble semblance of some sort of disco-bar. i saw kids there, too many who group up around young girls, then imitate higher degree of adulthood, pretend they behave at entrance, often go unchecked for subjective reasons, then have even fights inside, or in toilets. i saw that several times and that strongly discouraged me from attending the place where fun is imitated.

but lessons there are to learn, so i hope disco-bar management does smthng to better conditions, although they cannot control everything.
