I remember one of the English GoL members here phoning me up while I was on a visit to the UK and asking me to bring back a box of M&S ShortBread biscuits. Gradually more and more people asked for M&S items to be brought back for them which I happily did. Although in early December it did result in some very curious looks from the check-out cashier staff at M&S when I loaded up the conveyor belt with 27 traditional Christmas puddings. Border staff and customs officials across Europe who opened the boot of my car were equally bemused by my apparent enthusiasm for seasonal British desserts. So, if M&S wishes to open a food hall in Switzerland to save me from further embarrassment then that is fine by me!
(Speaking of embarrassment, be careful with letter order when writing "M&S" in a text message. I once got a text from someone saying "get me Xmas pud please from that S&M place").

opened without incuding food but I fear we're on a hiding to nothing at the current location which has Coop opposite and Globus 100m away.
I have never quite understood who they're trying to cater for at this Geneva store...ex-pats or Swiss.
I did hear they were looking for bigger premises so I live in hope.

We have M&S stores in the Philippines and they sell food stuff. I'm also one of the disappointed people when M&S opened their store here because they don't have a food section. Whenever I go to the UK, I make it a point to buy some of their goodies. Worth trying, Vale. Have fun when you get that chance. :-)

I know for a fact that M & S can't open a food section here in Geneva due to supply problems. M & S opened a food section in Paris & has found it a nightmare to get supplies & produce to the store. There s also the problem of local Swiss regulations regarding the inport of food products from outside the country.
