There is lots of vulgar commercialism during this season while people are starving all over the world..That to me is the real obscenity...

It is up to us to make it a better time and a better place!!!!!!! What are we doing to help people in need? Posting obscene videos? I just wonder if that will change one single thing other than giving publicity to these people creating them!!!!!!

This is a song I used to love when I was a teenager, and it might be more adequate to this season..... In my opinion.

Some people find vulgarity and obscenity wherever they look.

The video I posted is a wonderful, fun, funny Christmas-y song from a great, heart-warming, touching Christmas-themed movie. There happen to be a few curse words in it. But that does not make the video vulgar. Curse words are not vulgar in and of themselves. It's how they are used and interpreted.

Seek the joy in things, not the vulgarity.

I don't know about you but I've done my part. I'm sure there are others on this site who have as well.

In addition, one person's 'obscenity' is another's joke. 

It's obscene to me all the riches that churches keep while the poor are starving and homeless. I pray that will change.

It's good that you have done your part. We should all do something to change things around us.

We might not all agree on how we achieve it, but at least we tried our best.

Who says when you post a forum you become automatically the admin ? you said merry christmas and others kindly used your forum to say merry christmas, that is just like be the first one in the queue and then say , oh dont do this and that in my queue !!!

Forums are public and as long as the official admins and the majority have no problem with the content of the messages, anyone is free to post  on forums. Forums are not privately owned!

And I do not understand how publishing  a video on your forum is related to fighting with famine and helping people. Did you want to say merry christmas to people or just ask them what they have done for people in need!!!!

"African proverb?"  What part of that HUGE continent?  Algeria?  Egypt?  Or some other nation with pious leaders who own vacation homes on the Riviera and drive Mercedes around Geneva while their poor starve?  PAHlease...And if curse words are not vulgar, let your 5 year old use them!  Or maybe we should post on a PUBLIC forum in Iran...oh, we can't...

It would be nice if people could respect each other's religious holidays for what they are...whether Ramadan, Christmas or some other.  Accept it for what it is or reserve comment and watch.  Wouldn't that be nice?  Or is it better to just judge, criticize, and kill each other over beliefs?...All this directed toward a person who offered a cute cartoon and kind words:

We are not 5 year-olds on this thread and therefore there was absolutely no need for the OP to admonish Zonker about posting videos with vulgar language.

This is an open forum and as such the OP was unjustified in attempting to censor anything posted, especially as she is not the site owner nor has she been appointed administrator.

No one, including the OP owns the holiday called Christmas. Everyone has their own interpretation of it. As such, everyone has the right to post a Christmas or Xmas related video on this thread.

It's unfortunate that some would twist her intent rather than start a different thread where they could take a different approach without offending the "OP."  I guess basic manners are a thing of the past.  Thanks for the education on 5 year olds. Point is, vulgar is vulgar and Africa is huge...and manners are scarce.

Vulgar is *not* vulgar.

Some people think Georgia O'Keefe's paintings are vulgar. I happen to think they aren't. I happen to think that Christian music is vulgar, but I respect others who think otherwise and don't call it that.

Vulgarity is a very subjective thing.

The video I posted is not vulgar, though there are some words considered to be curse words, but the overall message is, obviously, "Christmas is all around us."

Ok, I'll talk for myself. My intent was not to admonish anyone, I asked politely to avoid songs that I thought were not appropriate in the thread that I started. Now I did not think it would make so many people talk about it. I'm amazed really.
