Lundi soir 21 ao?t, 20h, Place Neuve, 750 people altogether for a great evening of roller-blading : the MNS or Monday Night Skate. I would never have thought that it would be so wonderful to see all these people there for this common passion, singing and yelling with a common voice. No incidents worth mentionning that have altered our pleasure.
What I wanted to tell you about is this new experience I tried (even though it was my first attendance to this event, but I usually go to lundi roller), convinced by Hobbes, my fellow roller mate : being part of the staff. I thought this would be stressful and "flat". Well believe it or not, it was not stressful at all, organisers made it really simple and very well structured. However, if you don't like having to "sprint", don't be part of the staff, because once the whole roller-crowd is passed, you have to rush to go to the front. On the other side, it feels so good to be part of such a great organisation and ensure the security of others. You will also get to meet people as well and discuss with the pedestrians, drivers, bikers, etc ...
If I can give you one advice after you have participated at lundi-roller (every Monday except when there is MNS) is to go to Monday Night Skate. Once you have enjoyed both events as participants, try being member of the staff, it is a different way to participate and it helps the organisers overall ;-)
See you at the MNS I hope :-)
