Mountain Biking In Chamonix

Hi all,

I'm taking a friend mountain biking in Chamonix this weekend and was hoping that you good people could provide me with some guidance (as i've not been Mtb in Chamonix before).

What are some exciting but not to advanced routes and where is the best place to hire bikes from.

I know the place is quite spread out so dont really want to hire a bike in one place only to have to travel for ages before getting on a lift up the mountains.

Contact Marc from Pure Gravity. He's a great Mountain Bike guide. Hire him for the day: it will make a HUGE difference to how much you & your mate get out of that day.

There is this Maloja/Intersport shop near the centre and they have free mountain biking map for the region.

Thanks for the advice.

In the end we rented from Legend'Chx which was reasonably priced and quite helpful.

Tried calling Marc but could not get through. Tried another guide based on Nir's advice but unfortuantly the guide thought that thre was a cloud in the sky so canceled the night before.

Still had great fun on our own.
