Hi, I am new here, moving to Geneva very soon to work, from Poland. I will be bringing a car to bring important stuff but wanted to keep the car in Geneva. I am also coming with my girlfriend who at the beggining will stay with me a few weeks to help me organize some things and possibly later look for a job. The car I have been using for the last 3 years belongs to my dad (same surname ofc) but was not registered in my name. I would like to keep the car, at least for the time in the beggining, a few months. I read that in order to bring it and not pay taxes it would need to have been registed in my name for 6 months (does it matter that I used it but is in my fathers' name?)

1. How long can I have the car without registering it anywhere? 

2. If my girlfriend stays with me as a tourist, is it ok if she will claim she uses the car, also for how long?

3. If I use it during the time my girlfriend is here as a tourist is it all ok even if I drive on my own.
