Mumbai, The city of dreams...

There was a time when I proudly said Mumbai is very safe and the safest place to be in India....

My home town, which is also home to about 20 million people was under siege for 62 hours....Many people were killed....

However the spirits of Mumbaikars is still the same. The city has tremendous potential to bounce back quickly...The Leopold cafe is already up and running!

Have a look at the link below....You will get the real picture on Mumbai....

This article has been written by an American..Mumbai is his home for past 22 months!

http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/dec/02mumattacks-why-do-they-hate-a-city-of-dreams.htm

There were a few hundreds who died in the recent terrorist attacks. Maybe we all can light a candle and offer our condolences.

And take a pledge to fight against terrorism and keep humanity alive!

Thanks
Ehsaan

Though I am not from Mumbai (but from a different part of India), I have been in the city of dreams, and felt the 'spirit of Mumbaikars'. However, this phrase is created by the media and I think its time we do away with this phrase. Its more about going on with a normal life as if nothing has happened...! but, its time we actually look back at what is happening and give our enemies a proper answer.

It looks this time lots of politicians and beaurocrats of Mumbai are going to fall prey to public anger as this time normal people are not going back to normal life... instead they are asking questions. Questions about failed intelligence, about corrupt politicians, the list goes on.

My prayers for all those dead and kudos to those who fought the 60 hr battle.

With a candle,

Avishek.

I was following the terror attacks closely on the news, and it was just crazy - as terror always is.

These animal terrorists just killed randomly, shot everywhere, and did all they could to just KILL KILL KILL. It's crazy, it's madness, it's out of this world. And most of all, it's so so sad for innocent people and families whose lives were cut and destroyed for no reason at all.

Hey I am another Mumbaiyite here in Geneva. After the shock and horror of seeing what was happening in Mumbai I feel a lot more anger at the plight of the government and security agencies. Feel ashamed but still very proud to be an Indian. Taj and Oberoi are really close to my apartment so it was a place I frequented. Well hope we use this sad event to force change...
