Mums groups

Ok well just a bit of advise really!

I think theres a need for a mums group to share info / advise for especially newbees to GVA, so thats why I have started a facebook group on the subject.

However I dont want to run this group, I want this to be a free site that you can log onto and share info, arrange a playdate or just simple have a moan!

So how can I get the word out there and encourage people to use this as another string to their bow?

I know there are more and more mums groups popping up for GVA but this is going to be a free one with no strings attached and that people can participate in instead of being arranged!

Let me know your thoughts!

Cheers

Al

hi alison,

good idea! there's always need for more mums groups.

i don't know if you've come across it, but there's also a new web community for foreign mums and mums to be here in geneva, called 'bumps and bups' -  http://bumpsnbubs.com. it's only about a month old, and it's free and open to anyone who wants to meet other mums or just discuss things on the forum.

Great to see that people are keen for getting together!

Bumps 'n Bubs started a year ago through Glocals with picnics in the park and seems to have grown and grown.  Last month we launched a website (www.bumpsnbubs.com) to help coordinate discussions and events, and also to estblish relevant information such as reviews, services and places. Registration is free, and everyone is welcome!

Al, it's good to have information in as many places as possible, so why not continue with a Facebook page too! :)

Completely agree.  We need all the info/friends we can have to get to help us enjoy this time with our lil ones. Especially those of us whose families aren't so close by...

My kids are too old now, but I just wanted to ive you my support.

When I was in Japan with a new baby, I started an international moms and toddlers group and we met weekly. When I left two years later it was around 30 members strong and we all got a lot out of it (50/50 Japanese to Foreigners).

Yay for Geneva moms!!  Laughing
