Name in the sublease contract . Partner moving in a sublet ?

I am currently subleasing an apartment legally. My girlfriend is going to move in with me but we want to make it official as she needs a proper address for her work permit. However, the problem is that the original contract with the agency as well as my contract with the main tenant is only for one person, even though the apartment is big enough for 2 people.

Even though main tenant is helpful and has no problems with it, I want to know if the agency can refuse to let me add her name officially. What are my my rights here and what is the right procedure to do it.

cheers !

call the property management company (aka "régie") and ask them. They might send you a form to fill, so that her name is added, or request you to write a letter to them asking for her name to be added. The local administration (aka "commune") might ask you to confirm that she is living in the same household...

buttom-line: Call the "Régie" and ask them, it should be doable...

Good luck :-)

The problem is that I will be working on Zurich for 6 months and I want to come back to Lausanne on the weekends. I first tried to sublet it to her, but the agency refused for that. So, I am wondering how they will see it now. That's why I want to know if they have the right to refuse it.The area of apartment is 30m2.

well, it's understandable that they refused a double sublet contract. Now u can ask them abt how to do it as she's moving in with u. Regarding ur thing in Zurich, it shouldn't affect anything, ur principal (main) address is the one in Lausanne, and Zurich's would be a secondary address.
