Need English speaking doctor in Geneva!

I busted my knee playing basketball and I need to find an English or German speaking doctor in Geneva who could don an MRI or something like that. I already tried Hospital de la Tour because they got recommended to me for Sports Medicine...but the reception lady already refused to speak English and if I understood her correctly she said they don't take any new patients.

Can anybody recommend a good English speaking doctor here?

Thanks a lot!

You can send an email to the address below and they will send you a list of English speaking doctors:

Alternatively, you can also find another list fom the website of the American embassy. Please check this link:

Hi MarcekK,

I’ve asked almost the same question back in Sept. 2009.  I’ve just copied some of the reply’s. I hope this helps.

As to Hopital de la Tour, sorry about the experience with the receptionist, they are still taking on new patients… They have a recognized sports injury clinic by Swiss Olympic. They have several doctors who speak English. Here is the list of doctors with the languages they speak.

I can personally recommend Dr. Finn Mahler.

If you prefer a doctor in the centre, there is a sports doctor that speaks very good English at the Eaux-Vives medical center (on rue Nant).  His name is Dr Huwiler.  See http://www.cmev.ch/ for more info.  They also have on-site x-ray facilities etc.  Its quite a good center in the center of the town.

I can also recommend Dr. Finn Mahler.  He really helped me with my knees. He is excellent.  They also have English speaking physiotherapists he works with right next door.

A few of my friends from the GVA runners group  have actually used the Eaux-Vives medical center.

Good luck.

Dr. Finn Mahler was also recommended to me by somebody else. That's how I ended up at Hospital de la Tour. But when I tried to make an appointment the receptionist spoke only French and I think she tried to explain to me that they would not take any new patients.

How did you make an appointment with Dr. Mahler?

Thanks!!!
