Need to rent a car, where is the best attractive offer?

Hello everyone,

As I live in Pully and work in Ouchi, it's challenging to commute by buses every day.. ) So, I would be happy to get some tips about car rental -

what's the best solution - the cheaper the better??!!  To rent or use Mobility services?

Thanks,

Elena

I've seen that Mobility has now a "per month" rental service. You get a car (for max 6 months I think), insurance and service are included, you only pay petrol and parking. I don't know how much it costs, but it may be worth checking out on their website.

Also if you use a car only occasionnally (like once or twice a week) it's worth getting a Mobility membership, the reservation is easy on the internet and the price includes everything (also petrol). In my experience they're very reliable, and you don't have the hassle of signing a contract with a lot of small print with a rental company every time you need a car.

Personally I would look at the following:

1 . There are several trains an hour from Pully to Lausanne main station (also there's Pully nord). You then get the metro down to Ouchy.

2. For short trips like this, look at getting a scooter.

3. Cycling if you feel up to it!

4. Buying a cheap car (say around 3000 CHF).

5. Mobility looks like costing about 750 CHF per month which is comparable to hiring from another firm like Enzo. But it’s expensive compared to leasing (a Fiat 500 is about 150 CHF per month).

Obviously buying or leasing a vehicle is only an option if you're around for more than a few months.

Hope this helps.
