Yo Swiss!

Psycho is opening up this weekend (Jan 15 + 16), and we (Sindy + glocals) are in charge of making it the best club in town. We aim to offer a real alternative to the SIP, with a down-to-earth friendly crowd, that's there to have wild fun and NOT to flash money or cigars. The club has an Austin-Powers style chill out fllor, and a NY style dance floor. Entrance is only for glocals+ Sindy members (invitations will be sent this week).

The owner is the same guy who owns Parc des Bastions resto, Pallais Mascot club, Resto du Saleve, and a few other successful places in town. We don't co-own the club with him. But every Fri +  Sat are reserved exclusively for us.  

You asked if Swiss folks are welcome. We'll check passports at the door, and if you're Swiss - you're kicked out! You know I jest. Ofcourse Swiss folks are welcome! By International folks we don't mean the passport color, we mean the mindset.

Thanks for the info, i had the opportunity to go there a few days before Christmas, one observation though, not everybody in our group liked the Techno music which was being played most of the time, if you can do something about it be assured that it will be the best club since it is conviniently located!

Good music attracts people of all walks of life, my best wishes.

Gichana: thanks. The music will be all style mixed, without any Trance/Techno. The venue had some pre-oprning parties in the past 4 weeks, before glocals got involved, where the music was electro. That's over...(-:

The name began as a joke, but later became the real thing. We were looking for name to capture the feeling of a club where folks would come to just have wild fun, not to show their money or cigars. Something for the 'normal' person, not the ultra rich or ultra chich or the ultra jet set.

But these 'normal' people would go 'psycho' - in a good way - when the music and vibes were right. Hence - Psycho...

What you think of the name?

mmmm makes me think American Psycho, the film (apparently the book not as disturbing??) . Disturbing. But perhaps that is just me. 

Nevertheless, I'll be there. Although will unfortunately miss the opening.

Is it purely a late-night clubbing venue? Or evening drinks-after-work kind of hangout too?

Wear anything you like, and the more crazy, the better. If you really are in the mood, go for some Austin-Powers style stuff. The up-stairs floor of Psycho is done up Austin-Powers style, so you'll fit right in there with some crazy colors...(-:

Entrance is CHF 10, incl a free Psychopath drink. Drink prices are the same as SIP: beers for 9, long drinks for 18 (20 if it's a mix). Sounds OK?

DJ Greg Palmer is the best DJ I know of (although music is always subjective), and he'll do the opening with us. Later, we'll have guest DJs. The music style tho will remain All-Style, with no trance/techno.

Say, you all remember Neighbours, right? Well, if you don't, you should. Anyway at one point Danni, in the kind of carreer shift that can only be realised in low budget soaps, became a fashion designer and wanted to open a boutique. But being about 17 years old she didn't have any money, and she persuaded Lou Carpenter to finance it. Anyway, there was one memorable scene in which Lou burst in on Danni, really excited, and said after a bit of blah blah blah "...and I've thought of the perfect name as well... Funk!! It's going to be called Funk Fashions!!!" and vanished.

Just a question, you talk about doing same price as SIP... but will it be possible at your club to buy a bottle (you can't there except Champagne) and at what price? To reserve a table while doing so, at either floor?

Thanks for the good wishes! The first night is a few hours away, and I'm as nervous as a virgin before the first night...

About selling full bottles: we're open to doing anything. However, for the opening period, there won't be bottles, cos we know from our big parties that there's usually not much demand for them. But if we see there's demand for bottles, we'll do it.
