New Years Eve

Hey everyone,

A couple of questions for those native Swiss and those who have been in Geneva a while...

A few members of my family are thinking of making a trip over for New Years but want to know what is going on before they decide.  Are restaurants and bars usually open over New Years Eve and New Years Day or like a Sunday are most things closed?  Also does Geneva usually have a lot going on.  Some of my work colleauges have said that Geneva is dead in which case I might just go back to the UK!!

Thanks in advance for your advice
