This is a marvellous forum and people are usually polite and very helpful. Only downside for me personally is that when forum members ask for something, like on loan, or advice, or help, some of them fail to respond thereafter which is somewhat discouraging. But then again, it is the silly season, so maybe they are away on holiday. Answered a plea for help marked 'urgent' and never heard another word.

perhaps i'm a bit zen on this topic, but i take pleasure in offering help or advice when I can do so and I just know that the collective, if not the individual, will help me in my time of need.
That's all the thanks I need.
But, of course, if you cancel your weekend plans to help someone whose please was marked "urgent" and they said nary a word, well, yeah, you'd expect some kind of thanks. But, maybe it's still coming? I know there have been times when I was so ....... preoccupied that I forgot eat and sleep. I was jumping from frying pan to fire and back and while I hope I wasn't rude or forgot to thank someone who had helped me, I can't be sure of that.
Maybe thanks are still on their way.
In any case, *I* thank you for the help that you have offered others and hope that you continue to do so, even if you don't always get the thanks you desire.
