Anyone else cares to offer a review?

As far as tech goes this phone is DOA. Get an android phone, nokia isn't doing so well in the smartphone market nowadays.

Care to back that statement up with facts instead? Also, dead-on-arrival seems to be a strong opinion, when this phone has the best camera-sensor and optics of any phone currently. Getting an Android-phone does not guarantee good hardware, nor guarantee the app you need is available, or much else. Also, how much do you trust Google, who is behind Android?

What the N8 really has going for it is, in my opinion:

* The best camera, optics and 720p HD-video

*  Free lifetime GPS navigation (Ovi Maps)

Hi Maria,

I just received my blue N8 yesterday from the French webshop and spent a few hours resetting and updating it first thing. 14 days cooling off period allowed.

Feels solidly built, well-designed and with loads of nice features - yes, calling works, too.  Frankly, not all bugs, notably rebooting issues, are ironed out, but I remember a debacle with another famous phone recently. Nokia told me today that the next update will be primo January.

You are welcome to borrow it over a coffee/beer to see if you like it.

Of course, certain android HTCs, the N900 and the iPhone 4 are strong competitors. It's all about choosing :)

For me, the N8 will replace: GPS, prosumer reflex camera, bathroom radio, iPod Touch. That's a lot less to carry.
