We've found an apartment and will be shipping stuff over from the UK shortly. We've rented our house in London furnished and need to buy a washer and dryer for our new place. Am I better off (financially) buying them new in the UK and bringing them over than buying in CH (might be handy to have a local guarantee)?
Regarding plumbing the machine in, I assume it's the same system here pretty much (connecting to a cold water supply)?
Any help would be appreciated.

Buy it locally. Also to eliminate electrical concerns, earthing, plugs, etc.

Buy them in the UK and ship it over here.
We did that 4 years ago - no issues at all.
