Obtaining Chinese Visa?

Hi,

Just curious if anyone has any experience with obtaining a Chinese business visa through the embassy in Bern.  I may need to go on a trip in just a couple weeks, so if I need one, I'll need the process to go smoothly...  My biggest question is whether I need an appointment or if I can just show up - it's not obvious from their website, I can't get through on the phone, and their email box is full.   These are not good signs!

Thanks,

Robb

P.S. I'm American with a Swiss residence permit.

Re: Obtaining Chinese Visa?

Hi Robb,

I got my Chinese business Visa here in Zurich. It took me ½ hour. You just need to bring your passport, B permit, and 1 picture. Then they will give you an application. You also need to give them a copy of your passport and permit and tell them that you would like to have it done immidiately as otherwise, it will takes around 4 working days. You have to pay 250 CHF for an one year open business visa.

Please also not, that you need to give them an invitation from your business partner in China, and also a copy of your flight ticket reservation.
