One year break out of Switzerland

Hi Glocals people,

I'm looking for advice in case you have experienced a similar situation in the past.

I'll move to Singapore for almost a year to do an MBA and I would like not to cut my ties with Switzerland altogether. I would rather sublet my appartment, leave my car somewhere, keep some stuff in a basement, etc.

But then I do not know how difficult it is to put that into practice. I'm wondering what happens with the health insurance, the taxes, the "regie", the cantonal administration...should I warn all of them about my leave?

I do appreciate if any of you can give me some hints about all this process and what you recommend me to do. If it is too long to write it here let me know and I give you a call!

thanks and cheers,

Yogi

don't know about taxes, but you definitely have to inform your insurance company that you are leaving, in other case they will prolong your insurance when you'll be in Singapore already and send you bills. Then you will be in trouble if you decide to come back in Switzerland X_x

good luck with your MBA :))))))
