PS4 HELP! Need 2TB USB HDD in FAT32 format

Aug 15, 2016 @ 09:51

Hello,

Bought a new ps4 for my son. During set up I chose country UK as it is in English. If choose Switzerland then only in FR or DE so I wouldn't be able to do setup!

However, when you buy credit for playing online i.e. like itunes vouchers you can buy a shop checkouts - it is only for Switzerland! So now have a system that doesn't work and a child that it inconsolable...because of me.

So I read on line how to backup & restore data to PS4. However, I need a 2TB usb external disk drive or flash drive that is in or can be formatted to FAT32 - otherwise the PS4 does not recognise it.

Anyone know where I can buy one in / around Geneva area please?? Or know anyway I can get this sorted? I wanted to restore to factory settings then redo set up with country Switzerland and then reinstall backed up data.

Thx in adv,

If you recently bought a new ps4 and no games are associated with the account. Just a make a new one.

By the way I don't think you need a 2TB HDD for the backup. Go to (Settings) > [System Storage Management], check the space used

You need a hard drive or flash drive around the space used by PS4. I don't think it will be more than 128GB.

You can buy a flash drive or portable hard drive(1TB) under 100frs from mediamrkt or check on anibis.ch

Thank you for your reply. In the end reconnected ps4 and HDD today and re-tried everything. ps4 finally recognises external hdd. so I don't need to buy another HDD (hard disk drive).

Also, I found a solution. Kept country: UK and bought PSN credit via game.co.uk - which have just tried and all works fine.
