Paying Online and Online Banking
Hello,am staying in switzerland for a couple of months, however i do not have a residence permit.
I opened a bank account with Post Finance (because it was the easiest), but they refuse to give me a card i can use to pay online (they only have credit cards to do this, no debit cards, and they refuse to give me a credit card)
Do you know any bank or online bank that i can use to pay online through my debit account?
Or maybe there is some kind of prepaid/rechargeable card that i can use to pay online?
Thanks :)

Hi,

From what I know paying online its more a matter of the online shop that of the bank? I always had debit card and made online buys for a lot of time. There are some places where you can only pay with credit cards, but its not the usual.

You could also try using Paypal, maybe you can use your swiss account with it and many online shops accept paypal.

Hello Jose, No i think you have to have a debit card from something like
Visa or MasterCard, it doesn't have to be a credit card, it could be something like Visa Electron
or Master Card Electronikor off course any normal master
card.
the current cards i have are just plain post finance cards, that
can only be used on ATMs :)
Thanks a lot for your response
