Oh, and don't do drugs!
HAHAHAHHAHA Catalin, how did you know?
Did they send a pink slip in the mail?
It got sent to the U.S. so no idea.. just know its from that canton and a price tag of 160 chf

In theory, you can use numbers from the slip (if they sent one) to pay it online using your bank. Anyone back home who can read the numbers off the slip maybe?

That's more complicated. I don't think B of A can pay to foreign account codes like this.
You best option might be to have someone with a Swiss bank account pay it for you. Know anyone here who might be willing to spot you 160 for two weeks?

Whats wrong about Holland?
lol my lack of desire for returning to switzerland has nothing to do with driving. I dont even own a car there. Netherlands has been cool. I live in leiden, and its been essentially one huge freaking party.

Leiden is a nice city, you probably had fun with all the guys from the university in Delft ; )
I think I read somewhere that you wrote that you live in a suburb of Amsterdam. I suppose you meant Rotterdam.

Ha.. You are quite entertaining.. My school program has me at a different city every 10 weeks. I lived in Vevey as a Personal assistant for nestle.. Lausanne as a nanny, Geneva as a nanny. I am a global IR student, my program is geneva, london, leiden, bangkok, beijing, and vienna.. but I have the option of being a full time student at one local campus.
I have mixed reviews of leaving Leiden.. as Thomas has pointed out, I am having alot of fun with local boys here.. just one actually. And I remember what dating and nightlife is like in Geneva.. so i am not so much looking forward to it
No, I meant leiden.. To me this distance makes it simply a suburb and I think most people outside of NL wouldnt know it.
Justdoit, I am wayy too interesting of a topic for you ... I think if i put half the work into my paper im writing on the Rome Statute right now as you put into analyzing my comments, I would have a much more productive night than I do.
And you can feel free to ask around on Glocals, plenty of people have met me =)

Hey,
Normally there should be a "compte postal" (CCP) number on the fine your received. It is a number looking like 01-23456-7.As said before, you can pay on such account with a Swiss bank.
But for you, it seems like you need an IBAN code. Fortunately, it is your lucky day, because it is very easy to transform the CCP into an IBAN number. You should simply go to the following website and enter the CCP number in the empty boxes and press the button "create IBAN"
https://www.postfinance.ch/pf/content/en/seg/priv/prod/info/fincalc/iban.html
Then, you will get a lovely IBAN code that you can use worldwide to pay your fines!! ;-)
Next time, drive slowly when you are on Solothurner highway.. ;-)

Alex, this info is awesomeness.. I had no idea that a postal number had a corresponding IBAN.
Lexi, srsly, that 160 fine might double or something. Get a pal in the US to read the number and a pal here to pay it. It sounds like you're not in a good position to be helping the Swiss get any richer.

lol thanks for the information. That helps, its more of an annoyance things, as I am in the final week of my term so I have 1000 other things to do than mess with this... but this I will try, you are an angel. Thank you <3

Fastest town in Switzerland? ...NNNyyyyooooonnnnn!
Second fastest? .......SSSSssiiiioooooonnnnnnnn
Any ideas of the fastest in France? ...hint begins with "L"
Ok my sad jokes apart...pay the fine...it gets more expensive as you leave it... and if you wanna drive again in CH you dont need loads of unpaid speeding tickets chasing you around.
Good luck.

Just write them a letter...saying due to certain reasons you will be paying in a few weeks time, they are quite understanding ;-) plus can help you avoid the extra 40 CHF they add if you delay your payment.
