Hi - we have recently had lots of little black flying insects in our kitchen that just won't go away. pls see attached photo. They tend to rest on the kitchen walls, tiles or on the unit doors. They are not inside the cupboards and they don't seem to hover around the fruit bowl although I have now moved the fruit into the fridge. Pls can someone tell me what they are and how I can get rid of them. I have tried insecticide spray and even vinegar in case they were vinegar flies but they keep coming back!

looks like a fruit fly. Clean up your place and dont leave any thing they can feed on outside (no food outside) Should get rid of them in a couple of days. Dishes in sink etc also attracts these guys.....You could also buy a shotgun and blow them to smitherens :)

You should identify if Y/N they are staying permanently in your flat and not coming from outside flying in. If they are sqatters try to locate their hide-out place and put a plug on the hole where they exit or use a fly swatter.
As a reminder when you rent the tenant is responsible to get rid of such unwanted residents as they were certainly not there when you moved-in (check your walk-through report and rental contract)
Good hunting
