When I looked into bringing my dog from the US, she had to have a microchip ID implant, a letter from a veterinarian that she was in good health as of 1 month before coming to Basel and all current vaccinations (rabies, bordatella, etc) but no requirement for quarantine. I ended up leaving her at my parents so I don't know all the details for where the documents end up going (Canton office or where). Hope that helps. I was really happy there was no quaratine like UK or NZ.

Hi when we bought our 2 cats over from the uk they had to have a pet passport. Which basically showed what Kay had said above. Rabies vacc this has to be not more then a year but more then 30 days from the time you are bringing them in. ID chip and all the other current vacc. When you do bring your dog over you have to register them in switzerland.

Hello!

All that you need can be found on the following link. Pay attention to all the points because if there are not respected your pet may be stopped on the border/customs.

I bought my dog in Mexico and we had luck not meeting any control at the airport because the microchip was wrong!  Whe vet in Mexico put an "american microchip" telling us that it was the european one!

Mu poor little dog has to have a second one from switzerland thanks to the help of a local vet.  :(

Good luck with your pet!
