Poster framer!! Solutions??

Putting this thread in this forum as maybe someone more intelligent than me or with better french/local knowledge than me will have an idea for a solution :

I have a large poster (3" x 5") that I want to hang on my wall.  However, neither Migros Micasa or Jumbo or Migros DIY were able to help out.  They could only suggest selling me a custom made frame, which not only would have been expensive, but as it could only come with glass would need to be in really thick wooden frame to support the weight of the glass, and so super heavy - probably too heavy for the wall.

What in an ideal world I would want would be someone who is able to glue the poster to a thin wooden backing that can have attachments stuck to it to clip on scews in the wall, and either a very think sheet of glass or plexiglass on the top that can be attached with clips perhaps in the corners to stop the back from seperating from the poster and from the front.

If anyone has any ideas where to get something like this made (or is able to do it themselves - let me know your quote!!), or has a better solution to consider pls do let me know - all advice gratefully received

thanks, ben

Had the same problem, ordered two 1mm cut-to-size plexiglas sheets from plexiglas-shop.com.

Will find nice looking small screws, drill holes in the perimeter of the two sheets, sandwich the poster between plexiglas with some spray glue between the back sheet and the poster, and screw the sandwich to the wall.

A very knowledgeable friend of mine says he suspects the sandwich will deform in the middle and create a sort of a belly instead of hanging straight... I guess we'll see.

Take into account that goods come from Germany and are therefore subject to custom duties and fees... which seem to depend quiet a lot on the carrier they use. For some unknown reason this was very expensive, effectively doubling the cost of the goods themselves.

Good luck

I wouldn't call a 3"x5" poster very big.

Have you looked in IKEA?  I was there yesterday (Aubonne) and frankly they have more options that I would have thought. Good luck.
