Hi everyone,

Anybody able to give me the normal etiquette of postmen in France, we live in a gated communtiy and have recently had a problem with getting our parcels delivered. Each time the postman left a note in the mailbox saying we were not in (when we clearly were), the guy at the parcel pickup place advices is to put a note on our box saying please ring the buzzer. Have been out to check the mail just and the postman has replies basically saying no. Is it normal for postman not to ring buzzers here?
