Practicing Lawyers

Hi Everyone,

I have just completed my 3rd and final law degree in the UK and i was wondering if someone could possibly tell me how, or even if, it is possible to start enquiring into traineeships here.

I am a bit unsure ofthe Swiss legal system but i would like to find out about transferance courses so i could put my training to good use

Any help on this is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Congratulations!  Your best bet might be to look at British law firms here in Geneva and do some informational interviewing with them.  I have a friend who works as a "jurist" but not as an "avocat" in a firm.  She studied law but not in the Swiss system.

I am late in commenting, I know, (sorry) but my advice would be that you should try to join a company here, in their legal or contracts dept as a junior lawyer or paralegal, then find a qualified lawyer who is prepared to be your principal for a UK traineeship.  Even if the UK traineeship does not happen, you can build a career as an in-house lawyer - you do not have to work at a law firm.
