Proper British loaf

One of the things I miss about the UK is the fresh loaf of bread from the bakers, the bread over here is nice, but when I'm wanting a nice cheese on toast with thick cut fresh crusty bread, I'm left salivating over the memories of the bread, and don't even get me started on a proper bacon butty.

But that will soon change - I'm working with a baker here in Geneva on making a proper size, flavour and consistency loaf, so far we've got the taste and texture down, ordered some proper tins from the UK and so within 2 weeks, I'll be able to offer to those who want it a proper loaf of fresh crusty bread.

I also know where to get some great english cheddar and red leicester, also proper cumberland saussages and back bacon!

So let me know if you're interested, I'll keep everyone informed ;)

Please add me to your mailing list.

My travel opportunities are limited right now so I'm missing my regular trips to the UK and the thought of obtaining a fresh crusty loaf in CH makes the juices run.

Good luck in your endeavours,

Ritchie

Nice work.

I know a supplier of british foods, based in Chamonix, but I think he delivers all over and he has many different items to choose from.

Let me know if you are interested in getting in touch.

Best regards,

Bruno

What happen to the fresh bread?

We get Baker Street long life, Warburton & Kingsmill fresh and Jacksons frozen bread here in the shop but we would be very interested in selling freah locally supplied UK style loaves here in jims in Gland.

It would go well with our sausages, bacon and cheeses.

American market suck, at 50% or 100% more expensive, avoid

Just compare http://www.americanmarket.ch/

and I just get upset at the differnce in cost compared to www.afoodave.ch where the exact product is 14.90 vs. 9.90 just over and over

We don't have the fresh bread on site at the moment and it does sell out very quickly when we get it. We willl be adding it to the site shortly, a long with Fresh Sausages, Pies, Cheeses and other fresh items.

But we would really be interested in supporting locally produced english bread in the store.

Currently we have locally produced:

English Sausages, English Style Roasting Pork for Crackling, Fresh Pies (5 types), Fresh 21 day matured Steak (T-bone, Sirloin, Rump), Fresh Burgers SA style, Boerewors, Biltong, Chilli Bites, and very shortly Chocolates produced by our very own British Chocolatier (tasting at Jims Gland November 2nd 2013).

We have UK versions of a lot of these but we like to support local businesses as well if they have a good quality product.
