We are moving to Geneva very soon and are considering renting an apartment in Petit Lancy. Any great (hidden) advantages/disadvantages of living there? Our work is at Jonction, so we at least know its easy for that.
Any pearly words of Geneva-wordly wisdom would be very welcome.
Thanks

but depends a lot on the lifestyle. The parc de lla baite is perfect for kids and for picnics, the swimming pool, pattinoire, etc etc is really close... and the whole area is a family / young couple area. If u are living the single life, as in going out for drink in the evenings often, and coming back after 12 .. then it gets complex. No bus, and the ride to the center is at least 20 mints, and parking space is not what geneva is famous for. All in all, depends on the lifestyle, loads of my colleagues live there, cause we work there, the creche is there etc etc and all the singeltons i knew living there moved into town after 1year of parking fines :)

and I loved it. I was just near la Petite Vend?e. It's a great neigbourghood, filled with parks and so close from the countryside; Chancy, Parc des Evaux, etc. All the andvantages of a village life as close from the city center as possible. I don't undertsand how someone could possibly call it a depressive suburb. Aren't you mixing up with Grand-Lancy ?

Thanks for your comments. Yes, its a very close commute through the parks (we prefer bicycle) to our work in Jonction which is good :)
but did not know about the public transport curfew :(
Any more insights very welcome

the lancies are nice and green, and mostly very calm. You'll also be very close to the P&G HQs, so you'll have many exapts around you.
On the flip side, you're just a bit out of town. But Geneva is small, and it will take you (by bike) 15 min to get to town.
