Quality Wooden Extendable Dining Room Table

Hi folks

Does anyone know where I get buy a quality wooden table and chairs in France or Switzerland (not ikea/habitat quality).  I can find loads of options in the UK- but its going to cost 600pounds to ship here and i'd prefer to buy locally.

Any advice appreciated Smile

My partner recently bought a very nice extendable oak table from Micasa believe it or not (M-Parc La Praille). They actually have some very good quality wooden furniture, not just the prefab stuff. Obviously anything of quality is likely to set you back a bit in terms of CHF in Switzerland but he's really happy with his table and it'll happily accomodate 8 to 10 people not extended and up to 14 people when extended depending on the chairs you get. He got his chairs from Interio although he could've got matching chairs with the table. Question of taste and budget.

Interio also have some nice extendable wooden tables. Otherwise there's always Pfister but that's a whole other budget!

Given the current exchange rate you'll probably get more for your money across the border but am not so well acquainted with furniture shops in France I'm afraid.

Happy hunting!

Absolute best place = Ricardo.ch..... hundreds of tables available at rock-bottom prices. Look under the sections : Haushalt und wohnen [it is also in French I think] as well as Antiques and then under tables. Only difficulty is that you will have to go and fetch from wherever, but a lot cheaper than buying from either a furniture store or shipping from UK. Good luck and if you need more help [perhaps with the German] then let me know.
