Has anyone ever had to take a huge amount of Euro (coins) into a Swiss bank for exchange? How does it work?

I'm not sure the swiss banks are too fond of foreign coins.
I would think your best choice is to bring your coins to a French bank, and get banknotes (Euros) or directly changing to to CHF while in the French bank.

Sorry, I assumed you were in Geneva. Perhaps your nearest Euro-bank is in Germany, how far is that from ZH?
