Question regarding marriage

Hi all.

I have a uestion that I'm not able to get the answer to. Before phoning the respective agencies, I thought I'd post the question, perhaps some insight from the community can help me on my way.

Also, this will then (hopefully) help someone in the future.

Question time:

I am a British citizen, living in Switzerland for 5 years (currently on a C permit). I intend to marry a South African National this year and I would like to know what the correct route would be for her to join me.

So far I've seen that we can apply for a "Family Reunification Visa" for her to come to Switzerland and live with me, however in terms of travel, is this the best option? What do we do if we want to move to the UK?

Any input would be appreciated.

The easiest would be go to the marie of your commune. I've got married here in Switzerland - us both being Dutch and my wife not working. They can advise you exactly what to do, and what to bring!

Hi,

congratulations in advance

the most important thing is where you would like to register your mariage,

1- if you want to register in uk or south africa, so you can do (of course you need some docs depend on role in that country) and then you should legalize your mariage certification by suisse emabssy in this country (uk or south africa), (english certificate is also acceptable, other language should translate to one of the official language), so with this certificate you can apply for visa if she need visa for coming here and then you can apply for her c-permit,

2- if you want to register your mariage directly here, you need legalized birth certificate of both, so both person should legalize birth certificate by suisse emabssy (again english or suisse official language, please check with etat-civil office maybe in Geneve they accept only French/English), and then she can come with other visa (like turist visa or the one that you said) and register your marriage then c-permit,
