I know what it is and why I need it... but I don't know HOW to get it! Anyone got any links to the most basic, bog-standard RC insurance policy with a small premium? I currently have the ECA for Vaud, which is Chf 20 per year... so need the equivalent version for Geneva - Can't find it... very frustrating - Thanks.

Hi, very straightforward...
You can use comparis and they will seach all the offers for you...
Just go to 'assurance ménage et RC' and it should be quite easy from there...
Good luck!

Great - all sorted thanks.
For future Forum searchers on this topic - what other posts haven't pointed out is that RC insurance is the same as 'public liability insurance' - even though the translation is not the same (shouldn't it be 'responsibilite personelle?') - Hence my confusion.
So to confirm - if you go to the 'English version' of Comparis, the RC insurance does not translate to 'Civil Responsibility Insurance' it translates to 'Public Liability Insurance' - which may be obvious to some, but maybe not for most.
ps... cost me Chf 60 for Chf 3m liability for 1 year. So if anyone needs to upgrade their Rolex, lend it to me, I'll pretend to lose it down the toilet, you then make a claim, get a new watch, and low and behold I end up with a nifty secondhand time-piece and a slightly increased premium for next year... and next year someone can lend me their top of the range mountain bike, which may or may not get lost down a ravine!
