Regie asking for more money?

I received following letter from my regie (see attached file). I understand that the general idea is I own them money for the heating, but:

1) Judging from "decompte du ... au ..."

a) Should I understand that the calculation was done for the period from 07/14 to 06/15

b) If so is it legal, if I have started leaving there from 11/14?

2) The numbers in left collumn (depenses chauffage, depsense eau chaude) seems to be really big. Should I understand those are costs for the whole building?

3) The extra cost (frais accessories) is a bit suprisng or at least the amount is suprising. Is it normal?

4) My general question: should I be worried about this? Alongside the rent I pay monthly 150 francs for water, water heating and heating. The previous tenant told me that at the end of the year they usually give you back some of the money as (as a part of the rent) they tend to charge you more then required. But now I received this invoice and I am bit confused.

Please let me know what do you think.

Thank you,

Lukasz

Hey Lukasz,

1)

a) Should I understand that the calculation was done for the period from 07/14 to 06/15

I guess it was adapted to your renting period (from Location du 1/11/2014, soit 242 jours).

b) If so is it legal, if I have started leaving there from 11/14?

It was already adapted from what I can understand, so yes, it's done legally.

2) The numbers in left collumn (depenses chauffage, depsense eau chaude) seems to be really big. Should I understand those are costs for the whole building?

I expect it to be not only for your appartment (unless u're really using a lot of hot water and heat :-P ). Specially that this is not the number that was taken into consideration for getting the final expenses of 1146.7 CHF.

3) The extra cost (frais accessories) is a bit suprisng or at least the amount is suprising. Is it normal?

You can call them and ask more about the "Frais Accessoires". Before calling them, re-read your renting contract to be sure that it is not already mentioned/explained over there!

You should not be worried. The fact that the person before you received back some of the down-payment only means that she used to use less than what she paid. It depends from person to another, whether there's more than one person in the household or not (which makes the hot water consumption higher, unless u're not shower often enough :-P ), etc.

Buttom line, you owe them 186.70 CHF ;-).

Enjoy! (and don't be late paying a bill :-) )...

Sinan already covered it but you OWE 186.70 CHF.

I'd look into the "frais accessoires" fees, considering it seems rather high to me. Perhaps they're charging you for things like the Lift and what not? Either way, the total charges are in line with what I've usually seen, so no worries.

Thanks guys. I will try to investigate what's under "frais accessoires" cause it's a significant cost that's right now is a big unknown.
