On Thursday I will travel to London to renew my British passport but am unclear what documents they will ask for. The passport office website states that a British citizen living abroad may need to bring extra documentation, but it doesn't state what that might be.

I went through the process about 18 months ago and a renewal for an adult is very simple. All you need to provide is your old/current passport and two identical passport photos. I used the one-day process and it worked very well with very little waiting.
