I'd just like to steer this discussion away from Thai defamation.

The Thais are among the most scrupulously clean and hygenic people in the world and they don't normally eat cockroaches.  People often think they do because they see large, cooked bugs and assume that they are cockroaches, but they are typically giant fruit or water bugs.  The water bugs are usually farmed and taste a bit fishy while the friut bugs are collected from mango trees and, as long as you eat the right parts, taste pleasantly of mangoes.

Sorry - but there's no cockroaches in that lot.

There's various beetles, crickets, locusts, silkworms and giant water bugs (all of which I have eaten; in fact I used to live in the same district as the market in the video).  The guy refers to what he's eating as a cockroach, but he admits in the comments that he got it wrong.

Some people eat for substand and Gastronomy.

But in some parts of the world they eat JUST too live, that could includes anything.Does this make them 'UNscrupulously clean and UNhygenic people'.

Traditionally, religiously and culturally food is loved in one culture and hated/shun'd/grossed out/avoided by others. Me included.

Funny how some people make slight destinctions as 'scrupulously clean and hygenic people'. Dispite what others might consider 'scrupulously clean and hygenic people'.

So lets all go eat some Pizza :) with whatever toppings you like or ask for 'surprise Pizza' / Pizza maison'

Its like 'Reluctant but providing' even further, almost a double negative.

To avoid any further confusion, I was attempting to state two facts:

1. Thai people are generally clean and hygenic

AND

2. Thai people don't usually eat cockroaches.

Hence my use of "and" and not "therefore".

I hope this clears it up so we can all relax and get back to talking about contaminated pizzas.
