The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning counter-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. (Took me quite a while!)

I saw her turning clockwise first, but now I can see it turn both way. It's simple: when she's turning clockwise, her right arm is raised (at least, your brain analyses it this way). Try to imagine the other arm raised. *Shazam*! You'll see the dancer spin the other way!
I've received this animation in an e-mail a few days ago, which said that if you could see the two kind of rotations, you have an IQ of minimum 160... I don't believe it though, mostly because a) I don't believe in IQs b)I have no idea how I could have such an IQ c) In my small experience, I learned that things aren't always what they appear with women! ;-P
Cheers
Syd.

The default for me is clockwise, but sometimes, if I stare at her hard enough, she changes to counter clockwise.
I dont know what this says about my brain, but I find it very cool.

See www.theness.com, Neurologia blog for Oct. 11 for explanation of whether the dancer optical illusion is a valid right brain/left brain test....

To me, the image started off spinning clockwise for first few spins, then counter-clockwise for a few, then she appears to follow the way I want - for as many spins! If I do not seek a specific spin, the default becomes like a woman facing me; she goes partial clockwise (from one end to other) and then partial counter-clockwise (from the other end back to the start) - as if she is waiting to be led.
Interestingly, when I open the page, or look away and then look back at the screen, the silhouette always starts off with a clockwise spin.
This is fascinating. Is this available for download as video, movie or something to a device (such as iPhone, iPod, etc.)? Would love to add this to my library. Thanks for this and any leads.

...a picture; right click on it, save it to your hd. I suppose you can then move it to your iPod. Not too familiar with mobile phones though, but I guess you just need to proceed like you do when you want to transfer pics from your computer to your phone.
Cheers.

At first I saw it going clockwise but as you said I tried to get it to change direction. Now I see it counter..
This is cool stuff.
Here is something else to try, if you are ever working on something that is getting nowhere and you need a new idea, take two pencils (one in each hand) and start to write. Free write about your idea and force yourself to alternate hands. It may take a minute or two but the ideas will start to flow.
Just for fun.
Thanks for the interesting post.
