So, we are moving and are busily selling off things. I've been trying to get in touch with my Sky person but he is MIA as usual so I figured some of the smart people on glocals might have some answers for me.
I am trying to sell my dish and sky tv box. We just got a new card for the box about 3-4 months ago. My question is this. If someone buys this, can they switch the account over to their name? Can they use the dish and the box?
Any advice about this would be appreciated.

It's been my experience that one usually has to have their own account. It usually can't be switched to another name.

Thanks Swissangel. That's good because I don't want to pay for their programming anyway:-) But can they just simply open an account and then use the box with the card and the dish? I am so clueless about this stuff it's not even funny.

Yes. They can use the box and dish, but they'll need a new card and an account, if they want to watch anything other than freeview channels.
There are usually one or two for sale in the classified sections
