Safety vests for children

According to The Local [Swiss version] children now cycling to school must wear safety vests from now on. Good idea - more countries should copy this.

Are these waistcoats or underwear ?

And is the requirement national or local?

I haven’t heard of anything of the sort in Geneva.

Thanks.

So it's outerwear in Thurgovie.  Maybe Geneva will catch up five years hence.  That would be about par for the course.

Best, R.

You know what should be better checked here? People making phonecalls without without a handsfree kit whilst driving - or people fiddling with their phone whilst driving. I see 100k worth of car with people driving in it making phone calls without handsfree. Even close to schools. IMHO these people should be charged with involuntary manslaughter if caught. Take away their license and car. Perhaps that should stop these accidents from happening. I see this happening around schools to often. No yellow vest is ever going to change this. It's again putting a burden on a victim in stead of sorting out the perpetrator(s).

Couldn't agree more. Nab 'em and charge 'em.

Am I actually the very last person in the whole world who DOESN'T have a mobile 'phone?

Shock horror! Doesn't bear thinking about to be totally without one.........

Not really Jeffrey.

It means - in our case specifically, that we actually spend time looking at our lovely surroundings [and enjoying them] as opposed to fiddling with our 'phones with heads glued down bumping into other people.

Sigh......... I supposed eventually we shall have to join the club though......Cool

I was being a little flippant actually Sheila!! Don't bother joining the club...I have a phone but mainly for my son the contact me if he needs. I also have great joy in actually walking right into people I see walking and doing something on their phone..my idea of a little fun I guess. !!
