Trying not to sound niave, but what exactly does the 'salsa boat' day entail?

My parent's are coming over for a couple of wks, do you think this would be a suitable dy out to do with them? There pretty laid back people.

Also any other ideas welcome for things they can do on their own 5-12th July, and where we can visit in Lugano 12-18th July.
