Samsung Galaxy Instructions - Help Needed!

I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy GT-19000 - with instruction manuals in French, German and Italian. Not too much of a problem until I charge and turn on the phone.

The whole thing/home page is in German. Does anyone know how to change the language into English? The samsung website doesn't tell me, so please dont send me the link

Having spent the last 2 hours trying to work it out - I'm near to tears, so some kind, untechy, basic help from someone who owns the same phone, and/or has the same problem, would be brilliant.

PS Can you please send me an email direct to glocals, as well as the forum - I'm having laptop problems as well - yes, I'm a total techno-moron and proud of it!

I have also a samsung android phone but maybe its a little the same with features?

Try going to settings then choose Language and keyboard (mine has a drawing of letter A box on it) then select locale... then select your preffered l;language.

Hope it helps somehow...

a) hhmmmmm - its not a foreign phone - I live in Switzerland, I bought it here, ergo its a Swiss phone, but Swiss.com obviously have German as their default language.

b) don't ask questions you already know the answer to (i.e. no it doesn't help)

c) anyone else who actually has this phone and can give me (constructive ) advice would be really really much appreciated.

THANK YOU!!!! All I needed was that little bit of information "(mine has a drawing of letter A box on it)" - and I'm there - thank you so much!! Now I just have to find out how to navigate round the phone - but at least its in English!!

In the meantime, if anyone has any other hints and tips on using a smart phone - first time ever (always been a blackberry girl - hard to believe but true...) it would be really appreciated.

Your welcome The only problem I have with this phone is I cannot sync it with my laptop coz it's mac. Buy hey... I am not complaining this was a gift!
