Hey foxe !
I don't believe it, there's nothing on the member activities section for saturday evening yet. Where are you party animals hiding ? Ok, some wierd GOLers will go runing in the rain for a couple of hours on sunday, but do we all need to take a rest the night before to chear them up ? I don't think so ! So let's go and sing and dance in the rain :-D
Whatever you're up to: dinner, drink, bowling, movie, concert, pool, lasergame... let us know your suggestion. I'll post the final agreed plan or best idea tomorrow for anyone to join.

100 members online right now, 207 views on the activity, 74 views of the forum... and just one idea?!? Sorry to say, but you GOLers are disappointing sometimes :-(
Everybody complains all the time about how dead, unfriendly and cold Geneva and their inhabitants are, but when it comes to do something against it, fewer are to be heard. When cool events are organized, people will eventually join for the third edition (so that they are sure it's cool and don't take any risk) but when it comes to give something back to the community or support a new initiative, no one's here, or so few. I've already heard quite a few organizers saying amongst themselves "activities should be restricted to people who have organized at least one event". Sounds harsh? Please bear in mind that all Member Activities are done on a voluntary basis. It takes some time and efforts to plan it, reply to all the (most of the time silly) questions, book places, etc. It sometimes even involves financial risks (in case of no show) and a few complains (I've even received once complains about an event I hadn't organized!). But we all do it because we like it. Because we enjoy the activities for themselves, meeting new people and give something back to the community. But some encouragement would be welcome. On the opposite, seing members’ acting towards activities as passive consumers doesn’t really fit the "community" spirit.
For all that, I am giving up trying to organize a member activity for tomorrow night. I'm a local. I have local friends. I’ll spend the evening with them or join the pub crawl. I don’t really care. But I hope no one will ever dare ever telling me again “Geneva is unfriendly” or “why don’t you organize a bowling night again?”… the world is just as good as you make it !
Enjoy your weekend !

I have seen it a long time ago: most of us love it when things get organised for us, but are a lot more careful when we have to take action and organise and be more active...
