There are école du centre, école florian and école intercommunale. I think that you need a derogation something like that to move the childen to another school. I've been in Ecole Intercommunale as child (long time ago ;-) and it was very mixed children from different nationalites (many parents of these children work for CERN, UN,etc..), quite OK maybe you can get informations to the City hall of Ferney-Voltaire

Thank you for your response. The school that belongs to the address of the house we want to rent is Florian, and I understood that was the worst of the three. What can I use as a reason for derogation that the municipality would accept as valid?

I would very much appreciate if could  contact me by message, I would be interested in your experiences, we have just moved to Ferney, and should enroll our daughter in school there, I also believe that  our address also belongs to Florian.

At the end we did not move to Ferney, but rather stayed in Switzerland (Founex, close to Gva). I was very much against Florian and would have done anything to have them referred to another school. They tell you it is not possible and that you have to have a good reason, so really think hard about what you're going to present them. For what I heard the best school in Ferney is a private school, I think it's called St Vincent or like, but there is a waiting list. Good luck! Tamara

We heard not very good things about the ecole florian before my daughter started in maternelle.  However, for the last 2 years wer have been very happy with the school.  I have heard the same from many other parents, so I am not sure why this opinion seems to persist in ferney Voltaire.
