Secondary Glazing / Loft insulation - where to find and is there a grant?

I have just moved into a rented small old house in Geneva.  With the winter coming up I'm getting very nevous about heating it as the heating is oil-fired, the windows single-glazed and NO insulation in the roof.  I am worreid that it will be cheaper to sit around a brazier buring 500 CHF notes than heating the place (even though it is very small it is on 3 floors).

Given the house is due for demolition in 3 years there is no interest by the landlord to spend money on it.  There is no point in us investing a fortune on it either .

However, i was wondering whether anyone knew of an outfit that sells DIY secondary glazing kits (ideally in France given Swiss prices).

Also, does anyone knwo if the Canton of Geneve offers any form of Eco grant for insulating a house,

Much appreciated,

Nick,

thanks for the heads up and advice. Looks like I will just have to hope for warm weather over the winter, wear loads of sweaters and invest in some fingerless gloves.  Seriously, as you suggest I think ill pop over the border to France to buy some cheap insulation and lay it on the attic floor.  I may well invest in some film to put over the windows as well as fitting some curtains.
