I am not a pushover, not a wimp, have accomplished enough to be happy with where and who I am and have no problem with leadership or challenge. But when I read what seems like the majority of the tag lines on this site (and others like it), I really feel like the laziest, least focused, most underachieving person on the planet.
Did I really seize the day? Am I really living my dream? Am I wild and fun and giving 110%? I think I might not be. But I kind of wonder... is everyone else?
So, a small poll: what's your little intro line, how did you choose it, and, HONESTLY, does it reflect your actual view on life?
It's only fair that I go first. Mine is "my life has a soundtrack, and it's a good one". I chose it because if I don't have music playing on the stereo or my mp3 player, I have it in my head... always. My greatest feat of concentration in any given day is to make the walk to and from work without singing out loud as I bob down the street. And I usually fail.
If I could choose a super power, it would be massive strength, just so I could carry my drums around with me and be able to play whenever I felt the groove coming on (and then my super-strength would also be useful to fend off the angry people around me... drums are pretty loud). It definitely reflects my life and how I live it, as well as how I want to live it.
As a matter of fact, I often get sad (really, honestly sad, as in, "that poor puppy died" kind of sad) as I walk along that no one around me can enjoy that wonderful musical-ness with me. I need to get a second set of headphones, a friend who likes to sing along, and a similar route to work.
How about you?

In fact I would go as far as to suggest that C....e D....m should be banned for a complete lack imagination.
Unless of course the memmber can provide to the site documented notarised proof of a life lead constantly on the edge ;-)

You raise 2 points: do most of us indeed 'make life happen', and what the hell that has to do with our GoL moto...(-;
I find especially the 1st topic real interesting. In my old age I started reflecting more and more about that, and ended up realising I live the 'safe' day, and not 'THE' day.
But that's a long discussion...(-:

It is, but one worth having. Better over a good scotch than on an online BB, I fear. If the opportunity ever presents itself, I'm up for it.
