I just finished a batch of home made limoncello and I was planning to give as Christmas gifts a few bottles to people in Canada and the United States.
But now I hear that it may be illegal to ship alcohol.
Do you know if this is true?

You can check https://www.post.ch/sgo/RegulationsAction.do?lang=e for various countries' import restrictions. For example, Canada doesn't allow the import of alcoholic beverages and foodstuffs containing alcohol.
