Sending boxes of books abroad

Hello,

I am looking for a cheap way to send boxes of books abroad. Does anyone have any names of companies?

Thanks,

Louise

The cheapest way is to take bus 61 from gare Cornavin and get off at Annemasse Post Office stop. Go inside the Post Office, send the box(es) and save more than 2/3 than sending them from Switzerland. Also, you will be saving in customs' fees. And while you are in France, you can save on grocery/shopping as well.

You are so right but …

how am I going to lug a heavy box of books to and then on and off a bus and, later, lug the grocery shopping back home?

If I then need to pay for physio, I’ll be well out of pocket.

But thanks for the thought.

Eheh, no! You should use the shopping-trolley for grocery (I don't know what's the actual name is). The books will be the packed at the post office, as they sell also the boxes.

Then a quick pit-stop to Monoprix or Carrefour to fill it again ;-)

Right, so I pack a shopping caddie, haul it to the bus stop and get it on a bus, then off the bus.  Haul caddie to P.O. where I empty it and pack books in a box, address box, pay, etc.

Next, wheel caddie to shop, fill caddie with groceries, haul now even heavier caddie to a bus stop, get on the bus, get off the bus, haul caddie to my block of flats, heave caddie up front steps, unpack and store goodies, put caddie away and, finally, collapse into armchair with one large glass of favourite tipple.

Time is money, so where’s the saving?

When you put it like that Ritchite, I wonder why you would bother. Reminds me of a song.
