Shipping/sending an applience from the UK to CH

Hi all,

I would like to purchase a kitchen appliance (the size of a rice cooker) from the UK to CH. The reason is that I can only find this in the UK (FR, DE, CH don't have this, mind boggling isn't it!). Amazon asks for 90 GBP to ship a 60 GBP appliance, a bit steep if you ask me. Does anyone know of a good way to send stuff from the UK to CH?

Thanks!

Gabriel

Are you sure, you can't find it anywhere else? What is the brand and model? Maybe my Google-Fu is stronger than yours ;)

In the past I bought a kettle from John Lewis and they sent it to me here.

Can't remember what the postage was as it's a while ago now but it appeared acceptable at the time from what I recall

be aware that amazon uk does not ship any electric goods from uk to ch. you will find this when you go to the checkout. there will be a notice / alert saying that they cannot ship to your ch address. shitty isn't it. but try www.preisvergleich.ch and enter the product name.

@epicure

Amazon.co.uk might not send electrical goods to Switzerland. But their are many companies on Amazon.co.uk which do. So your rule only might be true for Amazon.co.uk, not for other sellers.

I didn't say it didn't work, I asked if there was a cheeper way of sending stuff from the UK to CH :-). I was thinking of ordering it and sending it to the UK and then having someone send it here through a cheeper route, if someone knows of one. They wanted 1.5 x the product's price just for shipping, which is crazy IMO.

I was answering Karl who said your link lead to a wrong site.

And yes, you are right, those shipping prices are crazy.

After some time, I found the maker:

http://www.enaiter.com/cp.asp?CPClass=%B5%E7%B7%B9%EC%D2

The one you wanted, seems to be an earlier model.

Found it in Russia:

(getting closer) You can buy 1'500 pieces directly from the company though.

Maladiets :-). maybe we can do a group ordrer, lol. I know that they have it in Russia and Ukraine, but I'm not sure the shipping would be any better :-). You're almost there though Alan, I am impressed.

Sadly, I didn't get any closer. Did you try to get in contact with the seller on amazon.co.uk to ask him if it would be possible to use a cheaper mode of shipment, even if that would take longer?

Switzerland is in his Europe Zone 3, whilst Germandy and France are in the much cheaper Europe Zone 1, which seems to cost only GBP 25.00?

So you might find someone here living in France or Germany (I would have a friend I send stuff to, but I live in Basel), which you could send it to and save a bit of cash.
