Anyone have knowledge of shop in Geneva or preferrably France voisine that sells stuff for artisans, hobbyists etc.?
I'm looking for a crochet hook to be exact. I'm too anxious to buy one from eBay and wait.

Hi there is a big selection in Manor and in Globus and in Coop Fusterie... not sure about france...
you should go and check there

Thanks, you're probably right. Pretty obvious now that I think about it :)
I also found some small shops on the internet once I figured out the word knitting in French, haha.

You can also google « Mercerie Genève ».
I don’t think there’s a “mercerie” in Ferney-Voltaire” but there is a “Maison de la couture” in St Julien and there may be one in Annemasse.

La Maison D'Ursule, at Ville-la-Grand near Annemasse definitely has it, and probably the do-it-yourself store at Migros Parc in La Praille.
You can also order them online at Etsy.com, here are a few examples
