I am looking for a Swiss mobile internet/ phone provider who allows the use of Skype on the phone

Hi, buy a iphone, install the skype app and thats it. As long you have wireless network you can use the iphone like you sit in front of the pc.

Until version 4 of the Iphone OS comes out skype on it can be a bit poor as it cannot be left running in the background. Any nokia running Symbian will let you install skype and use its wireless for connectivity. I'm not sure if any of the networks here give you the skype data usage for free like some other carriers in other countries.

iPhone OS4 will come out this summer (I think you can pay 99 USD and get access to the developer-builds, if you're desperate).
But then, I'd actually put-off buying the actual iPhone until summer, too, when the brand-new, super-powerful next-generation iPhone comes out.

That said, buying an iPhone just for Skype is a bit like buying a Rolls-Royce just for the neat cup-holders.
